new bath tub!

Last night, I bought Reece a big inflatable duck that doubles as a bath tub! It fits inside of our tub so now he can sit up and be bathed! He loved it, but I forgot to take pictures. Oh well, I will next time.
Hopefully, I can also get some video of him watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - it's his favorite show and when it starts, he starts kicking his legs, flapping his arms, and squealing! It's so cute!
I'll try to get some video tomorrow!

shopping!

We've gone shopping the last two nights and Reece sat in the cart! He was so stinkin' cute! He just loved looking around at everything, and touching the pairs of pants just hanging down the aisles! Tonight, he would grab anything and attempt to shove it in his mouth - I had to remind him the real reason for sweaters and pants!
Thankfully, tonight's shopping trip was a success and Don managed to find something nice to wear to Maggie and Danny's wedding this weekend!

Big Boy bath and teeth??

Reece is finally over his cold and ear infection and he is like a new baby! He is so happy and playful all the time! But...just like I had predicted, he's gotten over being sick and is now in the midst of cutting teeth. He's still not sleeping well because they must be bugging him. He wakes up crying a lot. Orajel and teething tablets have been our friends lately! Hopefully they'll start cutting through soon!

Last night we gave Reece his first bath in the big bathtub! He tries sitting up too much and seems to get a little frustrated in his infant tub, so we turned to the trusty laundry basket! It kept him contained and he totally loved it! This is the look he gave me when we first put him in...He loves his rubber duck!

He was getting sleepy here so he started rubbing his eyes.

Fun Times!

Last weekend we just hung out at home most of the time. Here he is playing with the balls from the ball popper!

I think it's time to start strapping him into the seat! He must have been wanting to help me wash dishes so he was trying to get out!

so sick :(

Poor Reece. Not only does he have an ear infection, but he came down with a nasty cold Saturday morning. He's been running a real low temp., has a cough that makes him gag, and a horribly snotty nose that he won't let us wipe. Because of all this, he doesn't want to be put down, which makes sleeping really difficult for the entire family. Last night, Reece and I slept in the spare bed, and while it took him a while to stay asleep, he did finally sleep for almost 6 hours.
Of course, he's sleeping now in his crib!

6 month appointment!

Reece had his 6 month appointment yesterday, and all I can say is that my baby is perfectly normal! He weighed 17lbs 12 oz, he was 26.5 ounces long. He was exactly 50% in height, weight, and head circumference! The doctor said he's perfect!
BUT...he does have another ear infection. We had no clue that he even had one. Even the sitter was surprised, he showed no signs of one - no ear pulling, no fussiness, nothing.
I'm also a little sad to say that I am not officially done nursing him. Things REALLY slowed down over Christmas break - he is eating more solids and I don't think I was eating enough. He's adjusted well to strictly formula though, so that makes me happy!
He sits up totally on his own, but is not quite ready to crawl yet. He can get his knees under himself, but he puts his hands like under his belly - he looks like a break dancer, I need to try and take a picture of it.
Shots were crappy again. The nurse was really slow at giving them, so he screamed more than normal...and then threw up on me! His new medicine for his ear infection is really strong and I think it hurts his tummy since he also threw up on the sitter today! Hopefully things get better. Thankfully, he's still in pretty good spirits!

Our neighbor Tom took some pictures of Reece last weekend! Reece sat up by himself through all of these pictures! Tom took over 100 pictures, but I'll just post my favorite 5. Enjoy!






He is just so sweet and expressive these days! And...he's been sleeping better this week - I really think he needed his routine back. Now that I'm waking him at 6 each morning, he's taking 2 naps during the day at the sitters and is only waking up once at night, around 1 or 2am! I'll take it!

As you can see, he sits up pretty well on his own now! Our neighbor, Tom, took some fantastic pictures of Reece today! We cannot wait to see them.

Not much new going on. He turns 6 months tomorrow, I cannot believe it! We have survived his first ear infecton and are now in the midst of teething....there's no sleep going on in our house! But, we woudn't change things if we could! Time has gone so quickly and he has changed so much. Each day, we love him more and more! His 6 month doctor appointment is on the 12th!

At one point I actually thought I'd have time to send out Christmas cards this year! Ha ha....who was I kidding??!! Below were the prospects!
